Online Identity Check Terms and Conditions

  • Stockspot is required by law to verify my identity before it can provide me with financial services.
  • It is an offence under the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Act 2006 to provide false or misleading information about my identity.
  • I am not obliged to enter every type of identification requested and any government agency identifier I enter is entered at my own discretion.
  • My personal information will be passed on to external organisations and credit reporting agencies able to electronically match my information with identification data in their databases and I understand that these organisations may include Commonwealth and State government departments or agencies as well as independent, private-sector organisations.
  • These organisations are asked to assess and advise whether all or some of the personal details I provide match their records (using my details, such as name, home address, date of birth).
  • I permit the external organisations to which my personal information is passed to record, use and disclose my information in accordance with their own privacy policies and legal obligations (including links to their websites, privacy statements and terms and conditions).
  • Stockspot may contract with an outsourced service provider to coordinate and report to it about the electronic identification matching process and to perform additional identifications matches against other public or proprietary (non-public) databases available to do it.
  • Neither Stockspot nor its outsourced service providers will:
    • Record, use or disclose identifiers issued by a government agency unless the law permits us to do so; or
    • Access records held about me by external organisations, other than the identifying information I have chosen to enter through this website.
